A gracious documentary on a personal hero of mine, Thomas Alva Edison. It complements the theatrical movie, "Edison, The Man" with Spencer tracy. It is only 50 minutes long and a bit pricey but an after market seller here on Amazon makes for a better prefer.

Excellent!!! Each episode was a campy but hysterical five-minute parody of the then-popular "Batman" TV expose. The animation was cheap and simple, only two guys did all the voices, and yet this is one of the funniest, most under-rated cartoons of all time. It's all there; Batfink's supersonic sonar radar; his sidekick "Karate" (a paunchy bumbling jujitsu expert), arch-enemy Hugo-A-Go-Go (a very curved indignant scientist), and all the corny but clever jokes. There's tranquil something quite hip about Batfink, in a 1967 kind of intention. I'm joyful this official version is finally being released in the states. Highly recommended, although as you can probably notify by my name I'm a bit biased.

I remember watching this expose in the early 70's in murky and white as a kid. Large to now perceive it in color, and in vast quality.

I remember it started off with Karate and Batfink in the Batalac coming out of a cave. The theme song (which was sung) started like "The Batalac is ready is a wonder car...etc". This is not there. No singing opening. It's all slash with different music and shortened. It's such a loyal shame as I conception I was getting the classic Batfink shows. Why did they do this? I was really looking forward to it.

A friend told me that the trusty opening is on YouTube. I checked it out and it's there. Watch it for yourself. This is what I was expecting to seek on the DVD. The reveal, as it was.

The menu actually features the accurate opening music that was at the demolish of the theme song that was over the title of the episode.

I consider each cartoon goes for about 6 minutes. I'm not positive because the disc doesn't demonstrate any time or chapter details(really odd), and I timed it with a survey without a second hand.

Nice packaging but I net the discs are always displaced when I start the case. (Two discs per 'soft thin' case, so they are very discontinuance together. Objective be careful that one of the discs doesn't descend out. Easy to do.)

I'm peaceful contented I purchased this DVD because of the present that I loved long ago. They're aloof fun and I actually got a trustworthy laugh from some of them, but didn't reflect it was worth $32.00.

Licence to Slay is a product of its time. This James Bond movie was released on the heels of the fresh "Die Hard" and it shares not only a similar feel but also literally takes some of the same elements from that movie. Oh, and it was also the "Daniel Craig James Bond movie" before there was a Daniel Craig James Bond.

Released in the unhurried eighties, this Bond flick was an attempt to modify the conventional Bond formula. Its basically a revenge recount as Bond attempts to avenge a drug baron's attack upon Felix Leiter and his newlywed bride. The novel element this time was to execute the adventure a personal one rather than a mission on behalf of queen and country.

The producers chose a style that embraced a gritty feel before Daniel Craig came along, and they clearly chose Die Hard as a model. Unlike the would-be tyrants of previous Bond flicks, the villain here shares with Die Hard's heavy the ultimate desire merely to obtain a lot of illegally-procured cash. Both movies focus upon the villain's point of opinion and personal frustrations so mighty that the audience's sympathies are sometimes shared between both hero and villain.

The setting is a diminutive more commonplace this time. Gone are the previous rocket wrist-bands and Eiffel Tower chases. There are a lot more outmoded automatic weapons, and the vehicles this time include shrimp planes, speedboats and tanker trucks rather than Aston Martins outfitted with built-in arsenals.

Instead of honest suggesting Die Hard, "Licence" sometimes borrowed the same actors. The drug lord and the CIA agent here are played by fellow FBI agents(!) from the earlier movie. If the soundtrack sounds familiar, it's because composer Michael Kamen brought his minimialist style to both films.

That said, the arrive works in spades for Licence to Destroy. The stunt-pieces are immense, and the pacing is appealing. Timothy Dalton introduced a serious Bond before Daniel Craig, and while opinions vary, I contemplate he made a tremendous Bond. Most importantly, the principal Bond elements haven't been discarded--the gadgets and the "Bond girls" are mild there--they unprejudiced aren't the focus this time.

Technically, this is a vast Blu-ray. This movie has probably never looked better, even during its initial release. Many of the extras are recycled from previous DVD releases, but they level-headed go into more depth than say, the novel "Quantum of Solace" release.

While Licence to End was a financial disappointment when it was released, I believe history will be kind to this movie and to Timothy Dalton. It has old-fashioned gracefully, and is one of the best in the Bond series.
It is kind of murky the dreadful rap that Timothy Dalton has taken as James Bond, especially when he starred in two marvelous Bond films "The Living Daylights" and this one. A exiguous Bond history. When Roger Moore stepped down as Bond, Timothy Dalton replaced him. Unprejudiced like the modern "Casino Royale," "The Living Daylights" was an attempt to bring Bond serve to basics after the excesses of the Moore years. Dalton reread the Fleming books and attempted to play Bond as the man of the novels. There was very slight humor and Dalton, like Daniel Craig, had worry throwing out the runt Bond one-liners the diagram Connery and Moore did.
"The Living Daylights" opened in the summer of 1987 and was very successful. "License to Raze" opened in the summer of 1989, a very competitive summer, against the likes of Tim Burton's "Batman," "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," "Lethal Weapon II," "Ghostbusters 2," "Star Hurry V," etc. This film did well overseas but was a flop in the U.S. After this film, there was six years of litigation between the Bond producers and the studio. When "Goldeneye" was announced in 1995, Dalton elected not to advance abet and Pierce Brosnan very successfully replaced him.
Since that time Dalton and this film have gotten a very unpleasant rap. "License to Raze" is a terrific Bond film with some tremendous action scenes,especially a wild trudge between 4 oil tankers on a winding mountain road, a lot of shooting, a low-flying plane and SAM missiles. This action scene has to be seen to be believed. It also has a vast villain in Robert Davi, a fairly suited leading lady in Carey Lowell, (Dalton had the least engrossing leading ladies in his 2 Bonds,) and a very apt supporting cast including Anthony Zerbe, Don Stroud, Wayne Newton and the broad David Hedison (Capt. Crane,) returning as Felix Leiter.
It is tantalizing how Dalton's portrayal of Bond is not that far from Daniel Craig's (although Craig's is admittedly a bit more brutish and physical.) Mild Dalton's portrayal of Bond has arrive to be condemned in current years (although it wasn't at the time.) Despite all the condemnations of Dalton's portrayal of Bond, he really did star in 2 very edifying Bond films.
"License to Slay" has always been one of my well-liked Bonds since I saw it that summer of '89. Check it out, I'm positive you will appreciate it too.

Watching this PPV was Kind of like Eating Something You Know You Shouldn't, because You Know You'll Net Sick.

Cool match, that started off plain, the crowd wasn't into it at first but kofi and the miz worked their [...] off and really got the crowd into it twards the extinguish... Kofi Pinned the miz to reatian the title. 6/10

3) DX vs Legacy in a Submission count anywhere match
These Four Men Where Everywhere i feel awful for security the where all over the arena, At one point Cody Rhodes flipped Shawn Michaels over the rail (up in the audiance) Making Shawn michael Tumble 15 feet to the hard ground. a Michaels got benefit up and tried to fight but he submitted to the million dollar dream and figure four leg lock around the ring post...Making that the coolest submission Ever! 9/10

4) Christian vs William Regal for the ECW title
Regal dominated most of the match,Christian got some offense..at the extinguish Christian hit the Killswitch To retian the Title..Trustworthy match 6/10

Short, But generous match Undertaker hits the Hells gate on Punk,Punk taps but Teddy Long comes out and says Hells gate was banned by vickie last year and that the match has to restart. the match restarts ad Punks locks on the Anaconda Vice and the bell was rung....What the hell was that? seriously recreating the Montreal ScrewJob...Tedious,wearisome Achieve... 2/10
It's pleasing certain already that this indicate is getting mixed reviews. Personally, I stand somewhere in the middle. I did not deem it was unpleasant, or even finish to being WWE's worst ppv peril of the year. That being said, there was really nothing on the note that warrants a rob. I feel that WWE really handcuffed themselves (no pun intended, peep "I End Match") by holding a ppv with every main event as a submission match, because it really limits potential outcomes. For instance, in the main event, they clearly realized that it was too soon to choose the belt off of CM Punk, but they were so clueless as to how to have him support without having Undertaker submit, that they rehashed the Montreal Screwjob, which happened 12 years ago. Anyway, WWE should never enjoy this event again. Matches are rated out of 5 stars (*****) .

1. WWE Designate Team Championship Match
Chris Jericho (c) & Astronomical Exhibit (c) vs. MVP & Price Henry

Decent opener. Match was not generous when either Henry or Present were in it, but Jericho and MVP worked together nicely and made up for it. Nothing to go out of your contrivance and survey, but this was a perfectly exquisite wrestling match. "Jerishow" go over desirable after Display KOs Henry. **1/4

2. WWE United States Championship Match
Kofi Kingston (c) vs. the Miz

Crowd wasn't really into it, but they had a trustworthy match. Lots of nearfalls and the accomplish was well executed. Both guys worked hard and they had the crowd attractive into it by the kill. Kofi wins orderly with the Wretchedness in Paradise. ***1/4

3. Submissions Count Anywhere Match
Shawn Michaels & Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase

Long match and very sloppy in spots. Crowd booed HBK, being as the event was being held in Montreal, and really wasn't all that into DX for grand of the match, and it made this feel like it dragged. They brawled all over the arena and it unprejudiced went on and on and on. There were some innovative spots and everyone worked hard, but this unprejudiced wasn't that capable. Scrape was, nobody interested really had a submission fade that was over, so the crowd was glowing humdrum when, say, Cody Rhodes assign an ankle lock on Shawn Michaels. At least DX save over Legacy. **1/4

4. Singapore Cane Match
Great Khali vs. Kane

I didn't consider it possible, but they had an even worse match than their previous encounter at SummerSlam. An abortion of a match, utterly unsightly to survey. -**

5. ECW Championship Match
Christian (c) vs. William Regal

Very solid pro wrestling match. Crowd wasn't into it but it's understandible after what they had honest witnessed. Very technical match, and the crowd did gather into by the extinguish when Christian started making his comeback. Christian pins Regal spruce as a sheet with the Killswitch. **3/4

6. WWE Championship "I Cease" Match
Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena

The psychology and storytelling of this match was really friendly. Most of the match revolved around handcuffs, with Orton cuffing Cena and honest beating the hell out of him, but Cena kept refusing to end. Orton took most of the match, but it was Cena who eventually turned the tide and Orton stop after an STF. As tired as Cena's unstoppable Hogan gimmick is, and as great as I don't like him as champion, I belief this was a very generous match. And seriously, did anyone contemplate Cena was going to end? For me, the outcome was never in demand because of the stips, but I'll give credit where credit is due. ***3/4

7. World Heavyweight Championship Submission Match
CM Punk (c) vs. Undertaker

They were strapped for time by this point, so they only got about 8 minutes. That being said, the match was profitable while it lasted but the ending came rather abruptly. Undertaker submitted Punk with the Hell's Gate, but Teddy Long came out and reminded everyone that Vickie Guererro's ban of that enjoy was peaceful in finish, and therefore the match was restarted. Punk expeditiously applied the Anaconda Vice, but as he did so the ref immediately rang the bell. So yes, it was the Montreal Screwjob in 2009. Teddy Long looked glum and stood next to a jovial Punk as the expose went off the air. **1/2

While this was an keen display, this conception should never again be archaic by WWE. The nature of the stipulations were such that WWE booked themselves into a corner, and had to resort to 12 year old-fashioned tricks to bag the outcomes that they wanted. There was definately a mix of honorable and terrible on the present, and I don't mediate one really outweighed the other, but when you perceive at this ppv as a whole, it is not worth your money. Rent it if nothing else.

I have no gripes with Warner Bros. releasing this on Blu-ray, but I do have a spot with what they assign on this disc (or, I should say, what they DIDN'T establish on there) . First, the describe itself does contemplate aesthetic and is fairly crisp and neat, but why in the world was it not presented in widescreen, the preference as stated in the very first commentary by the producers??? There's no excuse for that.

Second, there is only the standard Dolby Digital 5.1 which, for those who bear the SD version, is an upgrade. The audio does sound glowing suitable, though it didn't have the impact I expected. There's plenty of dialogue that is certain, making exercise of the center channel while other speakers are worn for the action sequences. Not overly impressive, but a decent pain.

Third, the studio was kind enough to port over all the features but added nothing else. Given the effect disagreement between the two versions ($25 vs. $42), and the fact they didn't bother with a widescreen transfer, they could've added couple unusual features. How about one on making the Blu-ray release itself? Oh, and speaking of features, adding insult to injury, one of them actually showed a couple scenes from the season in widescreen (non-anamorphic since the feature was in corpulent frame) ...

As it stands, this is an OK Blu-ray release but not a must pick IMO. Comparing it with the SD (which I also contain), the represent here does seem to be brighter and shapely, but is the improvement worth the cost? I'm not so positive. The only (minor) plus side is the 26 episodes are now spread across 3 discs rather than 4 and all the featurettes are on one disc.

Note: I rated this 3/5, however it is closer to a 3.5/5, I impartial couldn't elaborate giving it a 4/5.

In this collection of curious adventures, the Justice League faces such perilous rogues like Lex Luthor, Felix Faust, Gorilla Grodd and Vandal Savage. Based on the well-liked DC Comics' characters, "Justice League" is another well produced enthralling series from the creators of the Emmy-winning "Batman: TAS". "Justice League" premiered on Cartoon Network in 2001 and became a well-liked hit due to the inmense popularity of the previous tantalizing shows. The first season of "Justice League" features 12 multi-part episodes with likable good-versus-evil plots, refreshing characters, rousing comical book action and luminous animation. The first season is the weakest of the entire arresting series but does include such standout episodes as "The Enemy Below", "The Daring and the Valiant", "Legends", "A Knight of Shadows" and "The Savage Time".

If you already fill "Justice League: Season One" on DVD, then you'll want to consider twice before upgrading to the Blu-Ray plot. Despite a strong fan outcry for the release of the first season in widescreen, Warner Bros has again disappointed us by presenting all episodes in their corpulent cloak broadcast format. On the upside, the report quality is really proper. The episodes never looked so shimmering and gripping. The 5.1 Dolby Digital sound isn't riveting but gets the job done. The 3-disc Blu-Ray has the same bonus features from the previous DVD set: "Inside Justice League" panel discussion, "The First Mission" promo, "The Examine of the League" and "The Scheme for Justice" featurettes and audio commentaries by series creators on three episodes (The Enemy Below Pt.2, Legends Pt.2 & The Savage Time Pt.2) . Overall, "Justice League: Season One" scores a "B".

This BBC/A&E production is one of the most well made films my wife and I have ever seen - safe acting, costumes, sets and region, music, directing, editing!! Like others here, we have watched the A&E VHS edition over and over. (It is a 'chick flick', but I be pleased romantic movies, too.)

Our excitement over getting the DVD former upon loading both the VHS tape and DVD and comparing the images and sound. The widescreen image on the DVD is definitely more distinct on our 50" high res mask, and it is a pleasure to peek the chubby images framed as the Director intended.

HOWEVER, the colors are not unprejudiced washed out. The digital remastering has changed the color tone of the film as if someone dilapidated a Photoshop/Premier digital filter without incandescent what they were doing. The VHS and fresh not only had rich color saturation, but also had a warm tone that felt 'right' with the period film. The DVD is not only washed out, but has a strong blue-white tone to it that gives a wintry current feel to the scenes.

To earn the image to glance stop to decent on our TV, I had to turn the color saturation up as far as it would go, bring the difference down and the brightness up. It then almost matched the VHS images except for the blue-ish rather than warm overall cast.

The sound is tinny, grand of the lower frequencies that are on the VHS sound track being chopped off.

There are no subtitles at all (we frequently turn them on for other DVDs when we cannot quite acquire out the dialog) - noteworthy less alternative language tracks.

So, why is this edition 'Special'? The only additions, other than the abysmal digital remastering (digital destruction) are:

(1) an 8-page booklet (that mentions only 3 of the actors)

(2) some text-only biography screens, that mention only 2 of the actors

(3) a 20-some puny 'making of' feature that gives the producer most of the credit (and she did of course set aside the team together, but the director/editor/actors/choreographer/costumers/etc produced the art) - and which peaceful only visits with 4 of the actors - out of this tremendously talented cast.

What was supposed to be a 'special' Christmas gift, ended up being a big disappointment. We can only hope that A&E and BBC will originate an 'Extra Special' edition that gets the color and sound abet to the director's procedure (did he even catch to review this DVD? ) . That, and a rebate for all of us who bought this outrageous edition, would form us ecstatic enough. Adding subtitles, profiles of everyone else enthusiastic in the production, and stills of the various homes, heritage buildings and towns conventional would be (delectable, but optional) gravy.

"Pride and Prejudice" is one of the top 10 novels ever written. The BBC miniseries with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle is the finest adaptation to date. The actors are obedient. The cloak play is legal, comprehensive, parsimonious, and though-provoking. The dialogue is handsome and preserves distinguished of Jane Austin's witty and wry commentary. The cinematography is respectable. The film was shot in authentic locations all over Britain.

I understanding the film adaptation by the BBC and A&E was so elegant, I bought the VCR tapes when they were released, then I bought the lazer disk version, and then I bought the DVD version. The DVD version is a tremendous rotund disappointment. The quality of the DVD transfer is NOT gracious.

First, the colors appear feeble and with the Regency English palette of beige-greens, browns, ambers, and taupes, this is a serious defect. It makes the clothing witness obsolete, the grass and trees view sunburned, and some places, the complexions examine downright washed out. The film appears to have been shot in Arizona at high noon instead of England.

Second, for some bizarre reason, the DVD processors nipped and tucked some of the recent material. The clipped portions might not bother one who has never seen the original--but I noticed. There was no need to edit this film. Four of the 50-minute sections are crammed on disk 1 (where the editing takes area) and the other two were recorded on disk 2. I guess it would have made too mighty sense to report three episodes on each disk? Seems like awful planning to me.

For the designate of this 2-disk DVD package, more care should have been taken with the transfer process. My lazer disk version cost less, holds more, and has lovely resolution.

I rejoice at our collective suited fortune that Sony is releasing the all-too-short-lived 60's TV rupture hit, "Here Advance the Brides," on DVD. All 26 episodes that comprised the first season, including the pilot, are included in this six-disc boxed spot. The only special feature listed to be included are "bonus previews." This release is even more astonishing considering the exhibit has never before been released to the public in ANY format since its initial rush!!

The note, which aired for only two seasons from 1968-70 on ABC with a total of 52 episodes, launched the careers of teen heart-throbs Bobby Sherman and David Soul. Sherman, who was also a pop singer, became an international superstar predating David Cassidy's Partridge Family mass popularity. (Sherman made news in the 90s when he was certified as an Emergency Medical Technician in Los Angeles.) Soul went on to further TV fame co-starring in Starsky and Hutch (as well as for some later well-publicized right troubles inspiring domestic violence charges, etc.)

Set in Seattle in the 1870's, the series focused on the travails of the logging Toddle brothers. To avoid losing their male crew, they were forced to agree to bring in 100 prospective brides from Massachusetts, using money they borrowed from sawmill owner, Aaron Stempel. Should any one of the women resolve to go home, or should the camp fail to meet Stempel's timber quotas, the Bolts would forfeit their title to the mountain and the business that had been in their family for generations.

The series also boasted one of the best theme songs ever (which Sherman recorded on his debut album.) The following is the rousing chorus: "The bluest skies you've ever seen, in Seattle, and the hills the greenest green, in Seattle. I'm definite the popularity of this release, and the DVD releases of the Large Valley and the Wild, Wild, West are sending strong messages to studio execs that there is a substantial, appreciative and paying audience for vintage TV westerns. Hopefully, The High Chaparral is next in line for DVD release in complete season boxed sets!

This DVD features "Slight" with Robert Duvall as Charley Parks. This one is such a sweet episode because he falls in savor with this doll!

"The Jeopardy Room" is the best one on this DVD. It features Martin Landau trapped in a room with a ticking bomb and a gun pointing at his head. It's a huge episode and I savor it.

"Stopover in a Unexcited Town" is one of the most remembered episodes of the series. It's when two people go to this town but everything is counterfeit. There's no impress of anyone, except the evidence of the laughter of a slight girl.

The 4th and 5th seasons of the "Twilight Zone" always seem to procure dreadful marks for originality and production values. This DVD can testify to the contrary. `MINIATURE' written by Charles Beaumont is a tour-de-force of underplaying a role by Robert Duvall. This is a magnificent tale of an introverted man that escapes the staunch world into a fantasy one when he becomes intrigued by a museum's limited replica of life in the 1890's. `THE JEOPARDY ROOM' written by Rod Serling and directed by Dick Donner seems more akin to "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" but is a valid play on words and strategies between Martin Landau and John VanDreelen with it `cold war' views and interpolations. It is smooth a account of the individual who must emerge from a society that would suppress personal freedoms. `STOPOVER IN A Unruffled TOWN' is one of the most memorable episodes from the series. The Earl Hamner, Jr. tale starring Barry Nelson and Nancy Malone as the stranded couple who wake up in a deserted middle class neighborhood returns help to the very origins of the series with a quite innovative ending. These are all well produced episodes and are very representative to the theme of the series.

I'm going to originate the review off with the obvious: this is not a movie, but rather a documentary on the Kings Of Comedy Tour. In other words, a stand-up comedy film. You're probably reading this and wondering "why would anybody sell a collection of comedy skits as a full-length feature film? " Survey the movie and you'll understand. While no doubt genuine for television viewing (partly because they're all on BET), the experience in the theatre gives an overall impression of being there, actually watching Steve Harvey, DL Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer and Bernie Mac toss their routines live. As for the performers themselves, some of them are downright hilarious - I particularly like Steve Harvey and, of course Bernie Mac - while DL Hughley is kinda so-so, spending most of the time talking about panties and dissing audience members. But even the weaker performances survive because the performers are energetic and bristling with enthusiasm. This ends up making the material seem a lot funnier than it really is. I guarantee you'll acquire yourself laughing till you're crying over jokes that really aren't all that droll (like me as well as everyone else that was in the theatre) . DL Hughley is no doubt decent overall, and Cedric the Entertainer has his gleaming moments, although as a whole they aren't really anything special. Emcee Steve Harvey and Bernie Mac, on the other hand, are awesome. Steve Harvey's material is actually silly to launch with (I Like the Large bit at the beginning), but a lot of it is captivating as well. He manages to bag humour in adore, spirituality and family life without sounding blasphemous or disrespectful. Most importantly, he means every single word he says, and that connects with the audience all too well when talking about romance and worship. As for Bernie Mac: THIS is the skit that makes the movie so friendly. Without a doubt the star of the display, Bernie talks rudely about his kids and his modern parenting techniques, and pokes fun at other parents. His subject matter can be a diminutive dangerous, but he never comes through as disrespectful or snarky. Whereas Steve Harvey delivers his skits with pure honesty, Mac's charm comes from the fact that its sure that not a single word of it is accurate. This allows him to gape territory that others may be terrorized to. As a whole, this movie is highly recommended if you admire to laugh. It is an entirely worthwhile diagram to slay two hours, and I can guarantee you'll leave the theatre (or television) with a broad smile on your face.

This film captures stand-up performances from comedians Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, Cedric The Entertainer and Bernie Mac, and is a non-stop laugh-fest in the highest sense of the term. This review is not going to be a very long one - to be rather objective. The humor, of course, revolves around many taboo subjects like racial stereotypes, sex, religion and other things - if you are easily offended by any of these things, I suggest you avoid this film like the plague, because it is no holds barred! A few of the many hilarious scenes that I judge personal favorites from each comedian:

(1) . Steve Harvey does a handsome grand job of mocking the characters in the Ample film who decide to hold playing their violins amidst a major catastrophe. He later goes into detail about why he prefers "old-school" music; particularly old-school R&B, over the hip-hop and rap trends that seem to be preferred by the original generation. He does an effective job of lambasting rappers, and is absolutely laugh-out-loud hilarious. I was practically in tears from laughing so hard at this. Needs to be seen to be believed.

(2) . D.L. Hughley was hilarious too, but like some have pointed out, some of his routines came from other, earlier stand-up specials. Side note: If you can come by a copy of his stand-up comedic special entitled "Going Home," select it up. That performance I own to be his funniest, and it leaves me rolling on the floor everytime.

(3) . Cedric The Entertainer's humor was the least brash of all the four, and has more of a laid-back, subtle charm, which aloof manages to obtain you laugh. The whole break-dance scene was comic, as well as his "cruising into outer situation" scene, his self-made "martial art style" scene, and others.

(4) . Bernie Mac - excellent lord. He was without a doubt the craziest, most brash, most (messed) -up comedian in this plot. Sadistic and intensely cathartic, even. It's only fitting that he would be the last performer. His routine was honest a cramped too considerable for me - and unexcited is - and I mean that in the best plan possible. His takes on kids and how they score (or should procure) punished, sex and orgasm, and the "stuttering" kid were honest too worthy - not only was I laughing too hard, but my lungs began to pain, I nearly lost my thunder for a brief period, and I was nearly out of oxygen. The guy was too grand! Saying that he cracked me up would be a Mountainous understatement.

All in all, recommended for many who want (or need) a major laugh-fest. Sometimes, one of the best ways - if not the best draw - to deal with poor situations in life is to be able to laugh at them - as exemplified in this film. If you suffer from chronic asthma, heart disease, and/or are easily scared - particularly by the things mentioned in the above paragraphs (including loads of profanity) - end VERY far away from this - you will be digging yourself an early grave.

Now that most people know "Pearl Harbor" is a combination of "Tora, Tora, Tora" and "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo," this 1944 film directed by Mergyn LeRoy might accumulate some renewed interest. Dalton Trumbo's screenplay is based on the book by Captain Ted. W. Lawson and Robert Considine, and it is Van Johnson as Lawson who is the main character in this film. Spencer Tracy's role as Lt. Colonel Jimmy Doolittle is basically a supporting portion, which, or course, Tracy nails. The film is an bright and essentially faithful retelling of the illustrious air raid of Japan that was America's first valuable payback for the raid on Pearl Harbor. The film not only has a documentary style, including real footage of the B-25s taking off from the carrier Hornet, it also uses the right name of the raiders, which is a nice tribute to the members of the Doolittle Raid. Covering both the grueling training as well as the steady raid, "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo" has the deserved reputation of being one of the most just films produced during World War II about the steady war, winning the 1945 Oscar for Best Special Effects. The cast includes Robert Walker, Don DeFore, and a very young Robert Mitchum. This 1944 film, shot in dismal and white, is based on a fair sage. To do this he had to inform army bomber pilots to do something no one ever dreamed possible - originate 16 fully loaded bombers from an aircraft carrier. It was a success. And this film is a tribute to those men.

Van Johnson stars as Lieutenant Ted Lawson and he does a astronomical job as the fighter pilot who is sometimes petrified, confused and very human. The supporting cast includes Spencer Tracy as Doolittle, and Robert Mitchum, Don Defore, Robert Walker and a dozen other young actors whose names never did become household words. Phyllis Thaxter is cast as Van Johnson's young wife and the romance scenes they have together, complete with background violin music, are the only scenes I found a bit too overdone for novel tastes.

The rest of the film however, was fat of action. I can well understand why it won an Academy Award for special effects because it effect the audience just there on those small planes along with the men and primitive newsreel footage to supplement the scenes shot inside the planes. I really learned about the mission and the nature of the training, and felt the authenticity of a film that was actually made in 1944, not fair a revisionist historian's interpretation. Here, the slang was actual. They got the "dope" on what was going on, found out that everything was "swell" and the women were called "girls". Everyone smoked cigarettes too, a reality the fresh politically factual "Pearl Harbor" seemed to ignore. Also, considering the hatred that raged during the war, I was surprised that in one scene Van Johnson says that his family had a Japanese gardener and he didn't seem like a terrible guy. And when Doolittle addresses his men before they choose off, he talks about the fact that the men will be taking civilian lives as well as the military targets. The raid was successful but the film doesn't destroy there. Van Johnson and his crew were shot down over China and were treated like heroes by the Chinese. Some of the scenes that followed, where Van Johnson's leg has to be removed are harrowing and displayed his comely acting skills.

No, that transcript is not excerpted from secret Oval Office tapes; it's an exchange between the cheerfully sexist, jingoistic, folkway-challenged and generally clueless French secret agent Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath (alias OSS 117) and his Egyptian liaison, the blooming Larmina El Akmar Betouche. The scene is from OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies, a gallingly laughable Gallic observe romp from director Michel Hazanavicius.

As the intrigue thickens, Hubert encounters some sexy royalty in the person of La princesse Al Taouk (Aure Atika) as well as the usual Whitman's assortment of shady informers, sneaky assassins and dirty double dealers that populate exotic inspect capers. In the interim, thanks to his deGaullist stance and pleased cultural ignorance of the Muslim world, Hubert manages to deeply offend nearly every local he comes in contact with. As one Egyptian associate muses to himself: "He is very lifeless...or very brilliant."

DuJardin delivers these lines with the gleaming wisdom of a high lama, imparting a Zen proverb. I order you, the man is a bloody genius. Not to be missed.

Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath, a.k.a. OSS 117 (Jean Dujardin), is the most incompetent and culturally insensitive view who has ever lived. However, none of his superiors in the French secret service seem to have noticed. After the mysterious disappearance of his mature partner, Jack, OSS 117 is sent to Cairo to complete the assignment that Jack was working on. He must go underground as a poultry farmer and discontinuance an arms smuggling operation absorbing Egyptian extremists and Nazis.

This is the eighth film to feature OSS 117, a James Bond-esque sight (the first OSS 117 movie actually pre-dated the movie of "Dr No") . Apparently the previous films in the series were relatively "serious" espionage films, made between 1956 and 1970, but this more fresh update of the series is played purely for laughs and it succeeds immensely. "Cairo, Nest of Spies" is a very amusing film that had me laughing harder than I have in a long time. What makes this film so enormous is the fact that the humour plays on so many different levels. Not only is there a lot of very laughable visual humour (simply the expression on Dujardin's face was enough to effect me laugh in a number of scenes), but the script is also very well written and contains a lot of expansive lines. Although made in 2006, the film is area in the 1950's and mighty of the humour comes from OSS 117's complete lack of cultural awareness and of his patronizing attitude towards all Egyptians.

Don't be set off by the subtitles, this is a tremendous film that will appeal to any fan of scrutinize comedies such as "Austin Powers" and "Gain Bright", even if you don't disclose French.

This film is one of the rare achievements in comedy: I can gawk this over and over (and I have) and smooth laugh at the same parts. The jokes never wear out after a viewing or two. That's due in piece to the agreeable camaraderie between Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton. I simply can't imagine this film without any of those three, for they made their roles what it is and the interractions between the three of them are hilarious. Dabney Coleman as their sexist boss with an extremely naive wife is also hilarious as he gets his comeuppance.

Jane Fonda plays a mousy lady who enters the work force after her husband runs off with his secretary. Seeing her flustered by the photocopier is hilarious and it's fun to peek her transformation into a confident lady who can occupy her absorb (gun) against the boss.

Lily Tomlin plays the lady who's been at the company for a long time and is passed over for a rightful promotion because she's a woman. I like her scene when she schemes to choose a body from the hospital, mistakingly thinking it's her boss's tiring, body. When she's in a doctor's white coat and a candy striper stops her and apologizes when she realizes she's interrupting a doctor, Lily says, "that's good, I'm a doctor...so why the hell am I talking to you? "

Dolly Parton plays the secretary who uses her God-given endowment to silly accomplish. Dabney Coleman can't relieve to push pencil holders off his desk so she can bend down and buy them up while he gets to sneak a peak. It was this film that has made me a lifelong fan of Dolly Parton because I admire how she rebukes her boss by telling him that she establish up with his behavior because of the design she was brought up and won't tolerate it anymore and if he messes with her, she'll gladly turn him "from a rooster to a hen in one shot!" I especially loves how she tells him, "I never conception I'd live to say this about another human being, but you are scandalous, that's good, Deplorable TO THE CORE!" Yow! She means business, but it only makes the boss more turned on, so she has to support her words with deeds, thus fulfilling her fantasy sequence.

The dream sequences are hilarious and it is enthralling to inspect the scheme they each near right. I appreciate Lily Tomlin's Disney-esque dream sequence, the one that causes the most problems. While the movie does veer off in a surprising procedure, and some might say outlandishly unrealistic, and while one reviewer mentioned that it doesn't ruin with a "broad bang", I believe the ending was delightfully ironic. The ladies improved the office environment, no one missed the boss, someone even higher up noticed the improvements and justice prevailed. Comely!

I was only a kid when I saw this film in theaters and it has been one of few films where the humor never gets ancient. Anytime I need a laugh, I can rely on this film to provide them despite the numerous times I've seen it. That's a credit to everyone fervent in making this film, but most especially to the three actresses who really play well off each other with comedic brilliance! I'm blissful they have released a special edition, as I waited to grasp it on DVD for unprejudiced such an edition. Now the long wait is over.
FIRST THOUGHTS - -

This movie is among the greatest 100 small entertainment fests in existence. "9 to 5" reaches and touches everybody, both male and female somewhere personal and strangely satisfying. Herring was nominated for "Best Editing" for; "Tora! Tora!Tora!", 1970, "Move For Glory",1976, "Out Of Africa", 1985 and edited many other favorable comedies and dramas. Higgins and Herring worked together on a number films all of which turned out the better for their contribution and "9 to 5" is one of them.

The three female leads all embody some type of stereotype. Lily Tomlin, as Violet Newstead is the widow with four children, going it alone and trying to rupture into the male dominated executive world of gigantic business for the past 12 years - UNSUCCESSFULLY. She is confident and salubrious but she is a woman in a man's world, so she is very dissatisfied with the treatment she has been getting by the male establishment embodied through F. Hart [Dabney Coleman]. Jane Fonda, as Judy Bernly, is in the middle of a divorce in which her no-good husband, Dick, played deftly by Lawrence Pressman, left her for his secretary. Judy is now entering the workforce unprepared and for the first time and especially unprepared for the living embodiment himself, F.Hart. Dolly Parton as the luscious Doralee Rhodes, who F.hart chases round and round the office and even tries getting to conventions that do not exist all for a beneficial time - HIS, examplifies how office rumors can destroy peoples' reputations and of course by the living embodiment himself. That's F.Hart of course and he is the bane of these three "innocent women" and as we view, represents most everything that is deplorable in their lives as they explore it. BTW, Dolly Parton in this role was nominated for an "Oscar", "Best Song", and 3 "Golden Globes", includeing "Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy".

This film could not acquire off the ground without a genuine adversary to these very potent femme fatales in training. Dabney Coleman as Franklin Hart or unbiased F.HART, delivers an oscar pleasant pains in his role as the living embodiment of almost every wicked thing a man in charge can do to women under him at the office. He is "his" 3 "GIRLS" reason for being the procedure they are, at least throughout the film. Coleman very generously lends himself to the same type of role Carrol O'Connor did in "All In The Family" as a means of illustrating that some things are clearly and obviously heinous and need to be changed. Comedy and Cliches are distinguished tools for evoking awareness and change and "9 to 5" serves that cause well, chiefly through the utterly putrid nature of Coleman's character. Man or woman, we all luxuriate in Coleman's comeupance and so will you.

My common scenes are the three completely different fantasies our heroines relay to each other while under the influence of marijuana. Naturally, these flights of like all interested some overdue and explain revenge against F.Hart. Even such curious Disney characters as "Snow White" execute an appearance in Tomlin's depiction of Hart's demise. Naturally, the reality nearly repeats Tomlin's fantasy on the very next day, which leads our heroines to stealing a corpse, evading the police, kidnapping and grand, mighty more.

The scenes and gags in this film all further the set and honest dove-tail so nicely and so entertainingly together that it is over all to soon. We are left wanting more without realizing we have honest sat for over 100 minutes and the issues and conflicts motivating the characters and fueling the film's region have been resolved.

This is a terrific dark comedy. Our characters [3 female leads] glean our empathy as they enter into a kind of twilight zone where both their personal survival and convictions stretch these women and allow their characters to note what they are made of and carry out both personal growth and unexpected satisfaction. Their foil, F.HART after showing all how wrong he was, literally plunges into the abyss as if sent to purgatory and then hell for his misdeeds against women as the spot unfolds. "REEL JUSTICE", natty and speedy!! The topic and the settings have conventional very well and even after a quarter century this film in no procedure seems dated.

DVD FEATURES:

It is widescreen [1.85:1] and distinguished clearer than the VHS release. The Disney characters in Violet's fantasy expose this clear color and clarity improvement over the video release. It has 1 trailer and of course scene selection and is available on the same DVD in either English or French with English or Spanish subtitles or no subtitles at all [of course]. Naturally, some interviews and a tidy featurette would be nice but again this is a enormous improvement over the customary frail video releases.

FINAL THOUGHTS - - This fabulous film is highly recommended and "9 to 5s" entertainment value stands up very well to repeated viewings and the passage of 26 years.

I haven't seen the DVD yet, so this review is based upon my having the Japanese laser disc as well as seeing the world premiere in Meguro Public Hall in Tokyo Japan wait on in July 1987.

Although released in video as an OVA, it was originally shown in film to members of Kitty Animation Circle who went to the 1987 KAC taikai. It tells the Inaba-kun tale in the manga, and is a prequel to the "Boy Meets Girl" legend in the final manga volume, which was subsequently keen as "Urusei Yatsura Kanketsuhen" ("final anecdote) .

I hope that this DVD contains the uncut version shown at the KAC taikai; the LD release had several scenes slit and consequently was several minutes shorter.

Here's a brief summary of the legend that I wrote in 1987:

Shinobu, Ataru, and Lum derive eager with what appears to be a man in a rabbit suit, named Inaba-kun ("kun" is a man's word, like "san" but less formal) . They waste up in place surrounded by many doors. Each door is a possible path of fate. They all scatter to rep their ideal fate, but their hopes are dashed.

In one fate, Ataru marries Shinobu and fathers Kokeru, Lum marries Rei, and Ran is even more sulky and infamous than before. In another fate, Rei and Ran are married, but Lum marries Mendou and Ataru is his servant. etc. etc.

Inaba-kun offers to let them develop their ideal fates by creating their maintain door-knobs to as yet incomplete doors. Shinobu's is heart-shaped, Lum's has a tiger pattern, and Ataru's has a star (Moroboshi = "all stars") . Before they can exhaust them, they are captured by the other rabbit people, who prepare to boil Inaba-kun alive for letting mortals control fate. They reckoned without Shinobu's strength when exasperated, and the gang escapes.

They immediately gawk to try their knobs, but they are again ambushed by the other rabbit people, and Lum's knob is lost. Ataru escapes with his knob, and uses it. He sees himself surrounded by every girl he has ever wanted, all in interested attendance upon him. All except Lum -- he forgot to include her in his "ideal" fate! He sees his older self in tears at not having Lum. Ataru flees the scene, removes the knob, and discards it.

We gaze Shinobu's ideal fate; an older Ataru is unruffled chasing after girls, and an older Lum (dressed like Lum's mother) is pursuing him with lightning bolts. In other words, Shinobu's ideal fate is for nothing to change, and she expresses complete satisfaction with it. She is a sensible girl.

Meanwhile, Lum is wrathful at Ataru and is chasing him around the doors of fate. The rabbit people are trying to salvage the gang, but only waste up getting fried by one of Lum's lightning bolts. They are getting truly pissed! Finally, they send a hail of doors at the gang, who ruin up getting buried under the rubble.

They eventually secure out, and we recognize yet another fate; it is outside a church, and all the Tomobiki people are there to be at Lum's wedding. The groom is clearly Ataru, but we never glance his face... This fate is also destroyed by the rabbit people

Presently, the gang is on the urge again from the rabbit people, and Inaba-kun pushes them succor through the door to Tomobiki and seals it. Evidentally, he makes his peace with the rabbit people, because the last scene is of him attend at work, maintaining the doors of fate. He sees something; it is Lum's lost doorknob. He picks it up, puts it on a door, and walks on.

In the KAC magazine shortly thereafter, a Japanese reviewer criticized the film, saying that the producer did not truly understand the care for between Ataru and Lum. Specifically, in the scene factual after the door with the marriage of Lum and Ataru is destroyed, Lum and Ataru objective acquire themselves, suggesting that their esteem is ordinary; but if it is ordinary, why do they quarrel so powerful and why would Ataru give up his dream of a harem? The reviewer felt that this was an inconsistency and not in accord with the modern author's intentions.
I loved this, but even though I would give it 5 stars, it deserves 4, because Lum was called a BITCH of all dirty things! I mediate they could have made something better! A rated 12 and up!

Technically, there's already been an anime series -- "Negima" -- about preteen wizard/schoolteacher Negi Springfield.

But apparently that isn't stopping them from creating another parallel series, rebooting and revamping Ken Akamatsu's bestselling manga into the visually lush, fantastical "Negima!? " (perceive, the query and exclaimation designate mean it's a different reveal!) . And this series is a vastly different creation -- while it's rarely faithful to the modern manga's storylines, it's composed a solid fantasy account sprinkled with some fun silly relief. And chupacabras.

Negi has been assigned to a spacious all-girls Mahora Academy in Japan -- but things inaugurate going unsuitable before he even starts. Half-asleep student Asuna witnesses a shrimp magical show, and a vampire is attacking students. A vampire who is also his student.

Even worse, the vampire Evangeline and her robotic partner Chachamaru are targeting Negi, since the boy is her only effect out of a curse that binds her to Mahora. Even worse, her suppressed superpowers reach abet at the chunky moon -- and soon Negi's only hope of defeating Evangeline is by forming a Pactio (a magical contract) . Asuna is the logical choice since she already knows about his magic, but will the stubborn girl agree before Evangeline's cold magic smashes Mahora?

But there's more danger when a pair of disguised wizards bring news -- the legendary Star Crystal has been stolen, and it may be related to unique happenings at Mahora. As Negi tries to avoid erminehood, he must deal with a apt resident ghost, the risky Library Island, camping trips with his Pactio partners, and an sinister fairy that is attacking the school -- and even transports them to another dimension. Can Negi withhold his class wonderful from whatever has stolen the Star Crystal -- and avoid being turned into an animal?

For the recount, "Negima!? " isn't very faithful to Ken Akamatsu's unusual manga -- the first few episodes loosely follow one of his storylines, before spinning off in a totally different direction with the whole Star Crystal storyline. And rather than utilize the comedy and romantic woes, the first thirteen episodes decide to focus on all the magic that can be crammed into thirteen episodes -- transformations, spells, enslavement, vampires, aerial battles and chupacabras. Well, sort of.

Fortunately "Negima!? " never feels overstuffed, even though there's plenty going on here on many levels (personal, magical, and Pactiowise) . The various subplots mesh together very smoothly legal up to the cliffhanger, and the writers patch in stretches of level-headed time where the characters talk, spot and occasionally go to class. And of course, we acquire some spectacular magical battles and creepy magical creatures, with one highlight being the flashback of Negi's father battling Evangeline in a ruined city.

And though the focus is on magic and action, there's tranquil plenty of comical relief -- chupacabra clubs, meatball-shapoed spies, goofy Pactio transformations, and a hilarious scene where Negi tries fruitlessly to erase Asuna's memory. His life becomes entertainingly chaotic as more and more girls learn of his magic powers, and he's forced to execute more and more Pactios.

Even if "Negima!? " had a really disagreeable storyline, it would be worth watching for the simply attractive animation. The entire series is soaked in shadowy jewel tones and swirling magical spells, with erupting jungles of ice and hedgey mazes where unpleasant creatures lurk. Mahora is a dark, vaguely gothic position with lots of dismal streets and a city filled with starlike lights. And the level of detail can be breathtaking -- while casting one clarify spell, Asuna can be seen clearly reflected in Negi's glasses.

Negi proves to be a likable exiguous hero -- earnest, doughty, unselfish and a bit tightly pain, while Asuna proves to be stubborn, brash, eccentric and almost superhumanly strong. And though there's a gargantuan cast, they all win a measure of fleshing out -- Konoka and her hard-nosed bodyguard Setsuna, calm ninja Kaede, bookish Nodoka, and even a ghostly student who's composed hanging around. The best is undoubtedly Evangeline -- especially since the writers discontinue to swear what a tragic, lonely life she has.

"Negima!? " is a stunningly enthralling revamp Negi Springfield's adventures -- and while not terribly faithful to the manga, these dark-edged magical adventures are definitely worth watching.
First of all, I like the Negima manga series. The U.S. release is now up to volume 20 and it has been a wonderful glide the whole map through. The first anime series was ok. For the most fraction it followed the stories laid out in the first few volumes of the manga fair accurately. Then for the final few episodes they created novel material to wrap up the series. Overall, it was fun to glimpse a ample manga series in enchanting originate with voices and music, but they really only scratched the surface.

This second Negima anime series starts over and fine great tells its possess sage. Some might complain because they want to peek the Manga better represented, but I sight no need for this. I can savor the anime series as an alternate storyline, and this one is unprejudiced all around fun. The animation is amazing and the characters are well represented. Since it's a unusual chronicle I fetch the same sense of wondering what will happen next that I do when reading the manga.

One bit of advice. Going into this series it would support to be familiar either with the manga or the first anime, because this series spends a lot less time explaining things. I would probably be confused if I had impartial jumped into this series without my previous knowledge of the Negima universe. The creators really seem to retract the viewer already knows thw who's and the what's of it all. So it's not truly a sequel because it starts over, but it's not completely independent from previous versions either.

I sight forward to the next DVD release continuing this series, as well as the hopeful eventual release of the live action Negima series.

It took my daughter and I a couple weeks to understand what my 2 year weak granddaughter continually requested. She implored us to gather or turn on the roast beef present ... turns out she meant Ferocious Beast ... We have tried to gather all of them. Now the 7 year primitive and 2 year are arguing over which one to observe first. They treasure them. The beast is gentle, Maggie is cute, the stories have lessons; a agreeable, fun time with a splendid sage each time. I highly recommend especially if you have child or grandchild shocked of monsters or unseen scary things. Lilli has been timid about monsters. Now she says they're not really scary. She knows they're like Maggie and the "roast beef" and she's not vexed anymore. : )

Remember the Titans is the correct record of a exiguous town in Virginia during the 1970's. The "white" high school and the "sunless" high school are forced to combine into one as the town explodes in racial havoc. Honest as the caucasian football coach Yoast is about to enter the Virginian high school football hall of fame, he is demoted to assistant head coach when the two high schools combine. The fresh head coach is Coach Boone (Denzel Washington), an experienced African-American football coach that recently moved there. On top of this being between the two coaches, they have to figure out how to bring two teams into one and to kill the prejudice between the players.

Though the dwelling seems rather unlit from the above description, the movie does a vast job balancing itself so that it is dramatic and you are able to understand what racism was like during that time period, but there is plenty of humor to cause you not to be upset during the entire film.

This has got to be one of the best movies I have seen throughout my entire life (okay, I'm only fourteen, but give me a rupture) . I saw this movie three times while at the movie theaters (my mom saw it five times; possess me, she isn't the type to peer a movie while it's in theaters that many times), and you can bet that Remember the Titans will become a fraction of my video library when it comes out on video. This movie made me laugh, made me bawl, and made me that distinguished wiser about the world. When Remember the Titans comes out on video, please at least do yourself the favor of renting it. I can almost guarantee that you will absolutely savor this film. That's how proper it is.

I first saw "Remember the Titans" in the theater with a group of younger friends, who did not live through the civil rights movement or the uneasy truce that existed through the next 10 years. It was enchanting to witness their reactions to the chasm that existed on the "battlefield" of the public school system. Although "RtT" doesn't perceive the issues of the time in a substantive map, the film makes it easy to contain that the situations were genuine. The football field action is impressively filmed and the soundtrack is outstanding.

Will Patton and a terrific cast of young actors will entertain you and fabricate you possess for the accelerate of the movie. And although some scenes are corny, (every scene that features Coach Yost's daughter!) you procure yourself caught up in not only the game, but in what it represents as a centerpiece for a miniature town or city.

I confess that there is no movie featuring Denzel Washington that I don't like! His performance here is solid, and he hides his natural charm well - Coach Boone is not a charming guy!

In DVD, the film is enhanced with many special features that are impartial as racy as the movie. I particularly enjoyed the discussion between the two coaches and the items that were edited out of the movie.

Not an award winning movie, but definitely a feel-good flick with an edge of some of the hardships that create life worth living. It's mountainous to sight such trustworthy and complex reviews from younger watchers; it makes you realize that the film hit its impress!

Despite the inappropriate artwork on the shroud, this DVD residence is by far one of the best 2-disk special editions I have ever seen. The movie is presented in its fresh widescreen cinemascope glory with blooming menus, tons of extras, a tour of the castle, and a bonus movie. If it only had a thought art gallery, I would place it all the device up there with the Disney Platinum Editions.

The first disk makes consume of a blueprint of Anya's journal to Paris as the main menu integrated with clips from the movie. It also has something the Disney DVDs have been lagging on lately--a commentary. A commentary, no doubt, with Don Bloth and Gary Goldman, the two masterminds slow this film and many other engrossing masterpieces.

Aside from that, the first disk also contains bonus features on how to arrangement four of the main characters in the movie. Now, most "how" to design features commence out with a perfect drawing of a character and then reveal three steps, each with perfectly matching lines and interrogate you to do exactly the same thing, which is simply ridiculous. This one was different, though. Don Bluth hosted four sparkling art sessions talking very realistically about how exact artists do it, from 6B pencils to kneaded erasers to the fact that it's okay to do mistakes. He went through the process step by step and amazingly, his drawings looked very sketchy and none looked exactly like the character he was drawing. I understanding this was incredible because it teaches that not all drawings advance out perfect at first and even the best artists don't objective sit down, keep their pencil to the paper, and have a perfect narrate magically appear. The only thing I didn't like about this feature was that you had to click Continue after each step or it would impartial halt paused.

The other main feature on the disk was a singalong track containing songs from various older 20th Century Fox movies and hosted by a girl claiming to be Anastasia, but sounding nothing like her older or younger voices. The droll thing is, most of the songs on this track had absolutely nothing to do with Anastasia. In fact, I was surprised they expected kids to hold this DVD and know about these frail movies such as Young Frankenstein, Shirley Temple, and many others including songs from the other newly rereleased racy Fox "Family Fun Edition" DVD, Fern Gully. Despite having puny to do with the film, this 45-minute singalong track felt complete enough to sell on its bear without any other attachments so it was a very hearty feature.

The second disk had the must unenthusiastic narrator I have ever heard in my life. Never the less, the disk's menu is a radiant CGI tour of the Romanov palace. Each shelf contained objects that the loyal Anastasia might have had along with a description of their employ and position in history. Some objects turned out to be games and others were more bonus features.

The meat of the disk was a 45-minute documentary about the making of the film. It was very nice to hear from all the bid artists and other people enthusiastic, but the best section came from Don Bluth and Gary Goldman's commentary. Those two men always know exactly what to say! Their unprejudiced, straightforward, and down to earth nature really made this DVD a gem to fill. They have no method of playing down to a young audience and are clearly very passionate about what they do. It was always amazing to hear their insights on the movie and the art of animation in general and they really made this residence worthwhile.

Among the other features on the disk were a music video of Aaliyah's rendition of "Wander to the Past," a trivia game with questions that were not too easy, but not too hard about the film, and a virtual paper doll of Anastasia. There was also a multi-language reel of "Dart to the Past" and "Once Upon a December," preceeded by a list of phonetic letters. The "karoake" share of the reel was extremely tiresome because it would first explain Anya singing a line in one language, followed by two girls who were being dilapidated as examples of how phonetic letters are pronounced repeating that line, then the line was played without singing so "you" could lisp it in that language, and then Anya would lisp it one more time and these four cuts would show for every line in the song in every different language. Fortunately you also have the option of unbiased watching the multi-language song reel by itself without the girls or karaoke versions.

Now we near to the icing on the cake. Not only do you accept the movie Anastasia in this area, but you also accept its spin-off film, Bartok the Glowing, absolutely free! This 60-minute film is too long to be a short, but too short to be a movie and isn't really worth buying by itself. However, considering that it's free, it's quite a worthwhile bonus feature indeed! With a recent chronicle, unique musical numbers, and everyone's popular pink and white bat, it's certain to entertain for at least one sitting even if you never want to leer it again after that. The movie has nothing to do with Anastasia, but instead involves Bartok trying to rescue the kidnapped prince of Moscow. There are unfortunately no cameos of anyone else in Anastasia, but nevertheless, it's a cute flick.

At $10 on Amazon, this DVD is an absolute seize and anyone in their accurate mind should grab it the first chance they acquire. Not only do you obtain a resplendent and expertly crafted film, but you also rep a SingAlong movie, a second spin-off movie, games, historical references, and beautifully insightful commentary from the ever-devoted, ever-friendly Don Bluth and Gary Goldman. The princess Anastasia has truly returned to her rightful throne. The only reason I did not give this item 5 stars is because of the shroud art.
This warm and romantic film from Don Bluth and Gary Goldman has long been my current inspiring feature. This mostly fictional record of Russia's well-known Anastasia and her search for her family is sprinkled with humor and tremendous songs. The animation, from snowy Russia to glamorous Paris, is gracious and the epic is both heartwarming and fun.

A tall cast of voices, including Meg Ryan (Anastasia), John Cusack (Dimitri), Kelsey Grammer (Vladimir), Christopher Lloyd (Rasputin), and Angela Lansbury as Anastasia's beloved grandmother add depth to an attractive film. Anastasia wants to leave Russia for Paris because the necklace she wears has the inscription, "Together in Paris," which she is determined holds the key to her hobble to notice who she is and where she belongs.

Dimitri and Vladimir opinion to pass her off as the exact Anastasia for the reward in exchange for her visa out of Russia. The banter between Anastasia and Dimitri masks a growing attraction, of course, and when Dimitri discovers before she does that she really is Anastasia he knows he must step aside.

Complicating matters is the rotten Rasputin, who has placed a curse on her family and sold his soul to ruin them. His diminutive fruit bat, Bratok (Hank Azaria), is a very laughable creation and turns out to be not so obnoxious at all.

Joss Whedon was so upset with the contrivance things were going on the station of the movie, for which he wrote the screenplay but over which he exercised no artistic control, that he walked off the status. Indeed, this is a very hard movie to discover today after the TV series. I did, in fact, moderately appreciate the movie when it first came out. I actually appreciated and enjoyed the absurd tension contained in the title, an airhead bimbo cheerleader called upon to be her generation's vampire slayer. But viewed today, the movie isn't terribly successful, and is in fact made grand worse by the genius of the television series. It isn't fair a seek information from of Sarah Michelle Gellar being more bright in the title role than Kristy Swanson (though SMG's great smaller stature increases the paradox of a itsy-bitsy girl beating up big, supernaturally strong vampires) or the movie missing all the familiar characters of the show; the movie is almost completely devoid of its gain style, discover, and feel. Although the TV series started off on a puny budget, it instantly had a compelling recognize and visual style that the movie completely lacks. But when vampires (Rutger Hauer & Paul Reubens) are snacking on your classmates, what's a girl to do but grab some stakes and find down to some serious slaying. Fortunately, there is a cute guy (Luke Perry) as a bonus.

For fans of the hit television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," the modern movie is certainly a mixed bag. The strengths of the film near from Joss Whedon's script, which takes the ...conception of the blonde bimbo being chased by the monster and reverses it so that she end's up kicking the monster's butt. It's outlandish the things that glean stuck in your memory. I never view of this as an nefarious film unprejudiced because the formula separates itself from the RKO depression-era 30's (the film was made in 1949), though I seem to be hearing this a lot from critics. In fact, when I first saw the dance of 'They Can't Prefer That Away from Me,' I actually conception it was a performance from a TV special, not a movie. The performance is an display, not a care for scene. There's something almost- I don't know- *cold* about the blueprint they depart on that bare, heavily draped, stage. It's also the first and only adagio they manufacture in color- which, in itself has a sense of an era ending. Nevertheless, they have the same emotional connection to each other, and at the ages of 38 and 50 respectively, they peaceful carry off the grace and elegance. When they inch off the stage, an indignant audience breaks into applause- like they've been watching an act from THE ED SULLIVAN Prove. It's extrordinary that ten years after Rogers remade herself doing straight award-winning drama and Astaire remade himself as a solo performer and a man who could dance with unprejudiced about anyone, they could determine benefit into one more film and not have one strain of foot or hair out of site. MGM formula and Oscar Levant aside, it's a very nice blueprint to extinguish a professional marriage.

I am a big fan of the stale MGM musicals and have been more that ecstatic with the restoration quality on every DVD transfer issued by Warners in the MGM library. The release of the "Dream Factory" collection is a magnificent example. These films could have been photographed yesterday ("Summer Stock" is a pure delight to eye in terms of record quality) . "Barkleys of B'way" unfortnately does not live of to the exceptional quality acheived on other films of this genre.

The DVD record quality is very bad and plain and the sound is very muted. I was so dissappointed in this treatment. The DVD appears to have simply transfered the Video to DVD. No restoration to the record is at all apparent. Even the trailer looks better than the movie.

The extras are lovely and I can't complain here but hey Warners, what were you thinking when you tackled this gem. Someone must have been taking a sickie!

First off it's worth mentioning that this DVD includes Naked Mission and Lace in Site and is 120 mins long, not 60 mins as stated in the technical details on this region.

My only concerns lay with some of the English announce acting, and I mean some. Most of it is objective fair and well matched. Especially Gusto. The English dispute dub really made that character for me. Unexpected and very comic. As for the music... Well, I didn't perceive a vast amount of it during any of the episodes, but it never seemed absent. So, I guess it worked okay. The opening theme (extended for the included music 'video') rocked though. Very upbeat with enough electric guitar work to sustain the whole thing tantalizing along nice and slickly. Edifying work there. Unlike a lot of anime titles, it actually added to the feel of the whole work, rather than unbiased plodding along with it.

Overall, this is sexy and kooky enough to be a worthwhile capture with plenty of estimable set-piece scenes to boost its replay value. Whether you like it or not isn't going to be down to how easily you're offended. Most anime fans, whether they be male or female, regain that fan service, in varying degrees, is sparkling mighty always going to be share of the deal. The deciding factor is going to be your overall expectations of the whole thing.

As it is, it's a cleanly executed, humourous, gratuitous panty shot filled Bond style satire with both serious and fun characters and a reasonably tight region holding it all together. Leer it as that and engage it as that and you'll be more than satisfied.

I bought this DVD as a replacement for a powerful borrowed tape (which was bought primarily to complete my Aika collection and to satisfy my curiosity) . Reviewing it again though was unbiased as impactful as the first time around.

Trials 5, 6 & 7 really do redefine 'fan service' method beyond what most of us would mediate normal, especially Trial 6. The sheer amount of up-the-skirt camera angles, upturned bums and crotch shots has to be seen to be believed. It's quite ludicrous.

Okay, that doesn't really bother me, as such. I've reached a time in my life where very puny shocks me any more. But, as with the first time around, I must admit that I found it a exiguous difficult to clarify why I was watching it, other than for the purposes of pure sexual titillation.

Trials 1-4 worked elegant for me, even with the wonderful amount of panty shots, due to there being a reasonably cohesive set running in the background, some basic character development and comical visual humour. That kept the whole thing rolling along in a certain direction, which was obedient. Also, as a stand-alone idea, this particular mini-series (pun not intended) could even be considered a 'classic', or at least a defining moment in anime history.

However, the region gradual Trials 5-7 really is nothing more than an excuse for an ever increasing number of white knickered bums and crotches. Which is absolutely delicate, if you regain it for being unprejudiced that.

As it is, the latter I can easily deal with. I'm male and I'm quite tickled to admit that I like looking at lovely girls in short skirts, arresting or not. Most guys do. Neither do I have any accurate objections to having numerous shots of tightly fitted panties paraded before me. It's a purely sexual thing. Deal with it. But the singular lack of any really creditable direction (even allowing for the 'revenge' angle) did tend to procure a minute plain in places. The whole thing is basically unprejudiced one mammoth glorified cat-fight, and honest a cramped more depth would have gone a long device.

The mildly saving grace of this batch is Trial 7 in which Gusto makes a welcome return, along with secret agent Maypia - although neither of them really do that powerful this time around. From that moment on, *some* of the comic humour that was point to in the first four episodes reappears and manages to engage the whole thing up a notch. Unfortunately, it's minimal and arrives a bit too gradual in the 'story' to do distinguished else.

Visually though, the artwork and animation retains the edifying standards of the first four episodes. So no true complaints there. The grunt acting is on par with the first batch too and, once again, Gusto's English dub is ridiculously droll. Overall though, the whole thing looks very graceful, and the unique theme tune works nicely as well.

So, should you bewitch it?

Well, if you bought Naked Missions (Trials 1-4), it's probably worth it for the sake of owning them all. If you like nothing more than sitting around for an hour and a quarter looking at gratuitous shots of knicker gussets, go ahead and select it. You'll fancy it. If you want to have a allotment of challenging ecchi history, again, go take it. However, if you're looking for a trustworthy yarn and that alone, then forget it. You will be sorely disappointed.

Once more, as with the previous collection, whether you like it or not really depends on what you're expecting. That's what matters. Accumulate that true and you'll be elegant.

On a final ticket though, I'm going to be fair about this. Basically, for what it does, it does it exceptionally well. There's no doubting that. It's patently definite that the single reason for these extra episodes was to be as unfriendly and as gratuitous as possible, and on that trace it scores a mountainous chubby 12 out of 10. The sheer audacity of the Aika series in general and, in particular, the last three episodes is breathtaking. The producers form no bones about what its purpose is - or maybe they do - and for that you have to care for their gall and the extinguish result.

All in all, I would say that it's an agreeable addition to your collection if you either like vulgar anime, want to occupy the widest possible range of anime fare or are objective prepared to fetch it for what it truly is; tantalizing soft-core porn. If none of those points apply to you, then skip it.

It's your choice though. But if you're novel to Aika or anime in general I'd suggest you rent it, witness it alone (unless you really don't give a damn what others assume), and then determine.

Forget the fiction you've seen. The men in this film are the sincere deal. This graphic documentary is grand. You meet these Special Ops characters up conclude and personal. You go with these guys and follow their account from the streets of Iraq and the deserts of Afghanistan to their secret headquarters. What's particularly mammoth is that they are often far from what you'd inquire. But it makes you feel better to know they're there. This film also traces the history of Special Forces. If I had one complaint, I would have liked to have seen more interviews with the individual troops. But overall this film delivers grand time.

This DVD is an first-rate example of unconventional warfare in action. It places U.S. Army Special Forces with their indigenous element in Afghanistan and shows extremely damning evidence of the Iraqi Government's complicity in the Set sponsorship of International Terrorism under Saddam Hussein. I only wish this information had been picked up by ancient media and elaborated on more.

Previous reviews criticize the military garb, stance, and bearing of the soldiers being portrayed in the documentary. This individual is clearly unaccustomed to the unconventional warfare environment and his criticism was incredibly irrelevant. I highly recommend this video to anyone that would like a peak into the world of unconventional warfare and how the competencies of U.S. Special Forces differ from those of U.S. Navy Seals.

Anyway, you contemplate a decent "birth of the monster" scene with, another critical scene is the "villagers" scene! That's a obedient moment in an homage to the recent "Frankenstein" films. If you like lesbians + "Frankenstein" flicks this one is worth a sight if you're a completist. Others may splendid it lame.
